🐸 Print Frog® Glass Baren — Studio Model

The Everyday Studio Tool for Relief Printmaking

Designed by printmaker Matt Bagley in 2013, the Studio Print Frog® Glass Baren brings the trusted performance of the original Print Frog® design to artists who want control, consistency, and comfort in their everyday printing practice.

Produced exclusively by Iron Frog Press in Dallas, Texas, each Studio Print Frog® is hand-blown from recycled glass by skilled Texas glass artists and individually tested before shipping.

Whether you are working in a professional print studio, teaching a class, or creating prints at home, the Studio Model provides smooth, even pressure for clean hand-pulled prints—without the need for a printing press.

Why Choose the Studio Model?

Designed for Everyday Printing

The Studio Model offers a balanced weight and smooth-gliding surface designed for reliable hand printing. Its comfortable size and ergonomic handle make it an excellent choice for regular use across a variety of relief printing projects.

Comfort Meets Control

The rounded handle supports a natural hand position, helping reduce fatigue during longer printing sessions while allowing artists to maintain control and sensitivity.

Versatile Relief Printing Tool

The Studio Print Frog® Glass Baren is ideal for:

• Linocut
• Woodcut
• MDF printing blocks
• Collagraph
• Chine-collé
• Fabric printing

It also performs well with a variety of papers and materials, including kozo, mulberry, vellum, and heavy printmaking papers.

Not recommended for encaustic monoprinting or pigment grinding.

Handcrafted from Recycled Glass — Made in Texas

Each Studio Print Frog® is individually hand-blown from recycled glass by skilled Texas glass artists.

Because every baren is handmade, slight variations in color, shape, size, and small air bubbles are natural characteristics of the glassmaking process. These unique details are not defects—they are part of what makes each Print Frog® one of a kind.

Tested by the Maker

Every Studio Print Frog® Glass Baren is personally inspected and tested by Matt Bagley at Iron Frog Press to ensure proper balance, smooth movement, and dependable printing performance.

Look for the official Iron Frog frog logo as your mark of authenticity.

A Tool Built for Your Studio

The Studio Model is designed for artists who want a reliable, handmade printmaking tool that grows with their practice.

From first relief prints to ongoing studio editions, the Print Frog® helps bring consistency and confidence to the hand-printing process.
